PRIVACY CHECKLIST · BEFORE YOU SHARE

Private video chat needs more than a private label.

A practical privacy review covering the room, your account, the other participant and the information visible around you.
READ THIS FIRSTThree things worth keeping.
  1. 1Assume another participant can remember or capture what appears.
  2. 2Separate chat identity from financial and legal identity.
  3. 3Privacy controls reduce exposure; they do not erase interpersonal risk.
01BEFORE THE ROOM

Reduce information before it becomes visible.

Use a distinct display name

Do not reuse a handle that exposes your other social profiles.

Clear the frame

Remove documents, work items, photographs, medication labels and delivery packaging.

Silence previews

Hide notification banners that can reveal names, messages or locations.

Check account recovery

Use a unique password and confirm you control the recovery email.

02FOUR PRIVACY SURFACES

Each surface needs a different control.

Platform

Service data

Review what the privacy policy says about account, message, payment and technical information.

Browser

Device access

Grant only the camera and microphone permissions you intend to use.

Participant

Human memory and capture

Do not assume another person follows the platform’s rules or your expectations.

Payment

Billing identity

Read which provider processes payment and what name may appear on a statement.

To understand how service data is handled, read the current VidizzyCam privacy policy .

03DURING THE CALL

Share in reversible layers.

01

Start contextual

Talk about the present conversation before giving biography.

02

Keep identifiers coarse

Country or broad region may be enough; avoid addresses, workplaces and routines.

03

Pause before moving platforms

External messaging removes in-product reporting context and may expose a permanent identifier.

04

End on the first pressure signal

Urgency around money, links, personal media or secrecy is a reason to stop.

04AFTER THE CALL

Privacy continues after the room closes.

01

Review connections

Remove follows or blocks according to your choice; do not assume leaving automatically changes every relationship state.

02

Revoke permissions when needed

Browser settings can remove camera and microphone access for future visits.

03

Document serious incidents

Keep useful non-explicit context such as time, account name and report confirmation without redistributing harmful content.

05THE HONEST CLAIM

Private is a design goal, not a magic word.

A trustworthy service explains the scope of privacy instead of implying invisibility. Transport security can protect data in transit. A one-to-one interface can limit the audience. Neither can control every device, memory or action on the other side of the call.

This distinction does not make private chat pointless. It makes good choices possible. Smaller audiences, explicit permissions, limited disclosure and visible reporting can meaningfully reduce risk when users understand their limits.
